This directory of Restaurants is based on
a compilation of The Trencherman's Guide, The Good Food Guide,
A.A Best Restaurants Guide. Michelin Guide and the RAC Guide
to eating out. We have included a few establishments
which have Michelin Stars.
 The directory
features such Restaurants as Gidleigh Park, Horn of Plenty,
Carved Angle, Castle Hotel where such famous chefs as Shaun
Hill, Michael Caines, Peter Gorton and Phil Vickery have worked
- some of these have since become celebrity Chefs. All these
chefs have very high technical skills. One of these restaurants
has 5 Rosettes, others have 4, 3, 2 or 1 Rosette.
We have included one or two establishments
which appear in the Trechermans and which have Michelin Stars.
The aim is to let you dine out in style,
eating high class cuisine, in some of the best restaurants
in Devon, Cornwall, Somerset, Dorset including Bath and Bristol.
Majority of these high class eateries, some
with French influence others with Thai (spicy) or continental
others are just traditional, most use locally produced fresh
vegetables, in time they will no doubt introduce Organic produce.
All the Restaurants have extensive Wine Lists
and some have cellars which have won awards. Most Restaurants
offer an excellent range of French Claret and Burgundy, Australian
Chardonnay and Shiraz, New Zealand Sauvignon plus Italian
and South African and a lot more.
Eating out in the Westcountry should be an enjoyable
